Workholding/Tooling

A Multus B300 horizontal lathe is a workhorse of a machine, traditionally found in high production facilities. However, the addition of a Quick Change Chuck from Schunk turns this high production machine tool into a job shop machine with a quick turn of a wrench.

David Fischer, Okuma Product Specialist demonstrates how the Multus 300 can run; a small manifold utilizing a tombstone; a long shaft part utilizing the NC tailstock; and an aluminum plug, all in minimal time and with minimal effort. The Schunk Quick Change Jaw System employs exchangeable inserts that are released with a turn of a “key” tool allowing for varied jaw sizes and clamping pressures.

To further increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the machine Sandvik Coromant multi-tooling is used to help increase the number of tools without increasing tool index time.

Reduce set-up and changeover time, improving productivity.
