With THINC, our machines can now interface directly with the Okuma control, increasing the efficiency of the entire operation process. When the life cycle of a cutting tool nears its productive end, THINC alerts the operator that a new tool needs to be measured or preset. This way the tool can be delivered just in time to the Okuma machine. There's no delay, the machine stays up and runs longer. But THINC not only connects us to the CNC machine, it also connects us to the supply side, assuring inventory is in place. Now all three components — inventory system, presetter, machine tool — are connected to one another. That's phenomenal.
