Partners in THINC presents a ready-to-order, complete manufacturing cell demonstrating high speed machining accuracy and tight tolerances suitable for aerospace to automotive and medical parts. Featured products on the Okuma MB56VA cell include THINC-OSP control, a ChipBlaster, Zoller presetter, Kennametal Toolboss, Extrude Hone, Caron Engineering, Inc's TMAC-7 software, Renishaw Gauging and Tool Breakage Detection, Anybus robot interface, ConSep 2000 system and Midaco 40SD automatic dual pallet changer.
The Okuma MB-56VA vertical machining center features bridge-type column and saddle construction based on FEM analysis and a rapid spindle traverse with Hi-G acceleration to create a solid, nimble machine. A RAM type spindle saddle with double column configuration adds exceptional rigidity, while its small, moveable body facilitates 0.7g acceleration and deceleration rates with 1,574 ipm X and Y-axis feeds and a 1,259 ipm Z-axis feed. The MB-56VA Series also incorporates a lower table position for easy, ergonomic front-access to the machine and zero overhangs, requiring minimal floor space while yielding maximum effective work area.
Access to the automatic tool changer is designed so that tool loading and unloading is performed at the front of the machine. Oversized NRS linear guides and continuously lubricated guide bearings are also mounted against a machined square to increase rigidity. Featuring the THINC-OSP PC control with 40GB hard drive, the open API makes plug and play connectivity possible for all sorts of necessary manufacturing peripherals from bar code readers to robots.
